How do I buy AppleCare? You can start an AppleCare+ plan when buying a new product with Apple online or through the Apple Store app. For 60 days after a new Apple purchase, you can get a new plan through the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac.

Which products include AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss? Theft and loss coverage is included for iPhone with your AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss plan.

Does AppleCare cover accessories? When you protect your iPad with AppleCare+, you’ll get coverage for accidental damage for one Apple Pencil and one Apple‑branded iPad keyboard. AppleCare+ also covers any in-box cables and power adapters that came with your covered Apple product.

How can I get my device repaired? You can get your device repaired a few different ways. You can mail it in using a prepaid shipping label from Apple. Or you can bring it in to an Apple Store or any of the over 5,000 Apple Authorised Service Providers. How fast can I get my device repaired? It depends on your product and the type of repair. Same-day service is available for iPhone in most major metropolitan areas. For most other products, we offer Express Replacement Service, where we’ll send you a device so you don’t have to wait for a repair. What do I do if my device was lost or stolen? If your iPhone is lost or stolen, you can get started on filing a claim at mysupport.apple.com/theftandloss. Your replacement will be shipped to you. If you are travelling when you lose your device, we can ship your replacement to any of the countries where theft and loss is offered. Apple Footer Theft and loss claims are for iPhone. Each claim is subject to a service fee. While the plan is active and in effect, claim limits reset every 12 months: two claims under AppleCare+.

Theft and loss coverage requires you to have Find My enabled on your device at the time it is lost or stolen. Find My should remain enabled and your device should remain associated with your Apple Account throughout the theft or loss claims process. During the theft or loss claims process, you will be asked to erase your missing device, disable it and transfer ownership before you can be issued a new device. After initiating your theft or loss claim with Apple, you will be asked to finalise your claim on AIG’s website at aigtheftandloss.nz.

International replacement of lost or stolen devices is subject to availability and options may vary by region, device and model. Same-day replacement is not available for theft and loss claims. Local call charges may apply. Telephone numbers and hours of operation may vary and are subject to change. Coverage begins when your device ships or is picked up, or on the date of purchase if you have your device, and coverage can be cancelled at any time. Service coverage is available only for covered devices and their original included accessories, for protection against (i) batteries that retain less than 80% of their original capacity and (ii) unlimited incidents of accidental damage. Accidental damage means physical damage from handling due to unexpected and unintentional events. Replacement equipment that Apple provides as part of the repair or replacement service may contain new or previously used genuine Apple parts that have been tested and pass Apple functional requirements. Each incident of accidental damage protection is subject to a service fee. If you have a plan with theft and loss coverage, each incident of theft or loss is subject to a service fee. For iPad, your plan covers one Apple Pencil or Apple Pencil Pro and/or one Apple-branded iPad keyboard compatible with and used with a covered iPad, for accidental damage under your plan.

For Apple Watch, the band that is covered for accidental damage under your plan is the band that came in the same box as the covered Apple Watch. Any replacement band will be an Apple-branded band in a style, material and colour that is subject to Apple’s discretion. Service coverage is provided under the terms and conditions of your AppleCare plan. Service coverage outside the country of purchase of your AppleCare plan is not guaranteed. The availability and type of repair or replacement may vary depending on your device model, applicable local laws and the capabilities of Apple Authorised Service Providers in the location where service is requested. Some service options may not be available in all areas. If service is available and repair is possible, Apple may, at its discretion, offer to repair or replace your device using locally sourced models or parts that meet local standards and regulations, which may differ from the original device in terms of colour and/or specifications. Availability of international replacement for lost or stolen devices is not guaranteed and is subject to availability, and may vary by region, model and device configuration. Separate service charges apply to each repair or replacement performed. Express Replacement Service (ERS) is subject to availability, capability and local law at the time you seek service. If your device is replaced with ERS, the original product becomes Apple’s property. The replacement product is your property and becomes the covered equipment. You are responsible for backing up all software programs, data and passwords residing on your original device. Ceramic Shield back is referred to as ‘Back glass’ and Ceramic Shield display is referred to as ‘Screen’ in the AppleCare+ and AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss terms and conditions. The rating scale in summary form is: AAA Extremely Strong, AA Very Strong, A Strong, BBB Good, BB Marginal, B Weak, CCC Very Weak, CC Extremely Weak, SD Selective Default, D Default, R Regulatory Action, NR Not Rated. The rating from AA to CCC may be modified by the addition of a plus (+) or minus (-) sign to show relative standing within the major rating categories.
